Grant Recipients will be notified on Friday, July 17th, 2026 by 4:00pm (PST)
Grant Work Completedby Friday, July 16th, 2027

Note: Coupeville Historic Waterfront Association contributes up to fifty percent (50%) of the cost of eligible improvements for a single building or property. The earliest date of reimbursement for successful grants is Friday, November 20th, 2026.

Purpose

Coupeville Historic Waterfront Association’s (CHWA) Exterior Enhancement Grant Program aims to enhance and revitalize buildings and properties in Coupeville’s historic commercial district.

This Program stimulates economic vitality and historic preservation in Coupeville’s historic commercial district while supporting businesses, buildings, and property owners in achieving their ultimate visions.

The Exterior Enhancement Grant is a matching grant; CHWA contributes up to 50% of the cost of eligible improvements for a single building or property.

Who is Eligible

Applicants must be businesses, buildings, or property owners physically located in Coupeville’s historic commercial district.

Eligible Improvements include but are not limited to:

• Creative exterior elements
• Facade improvements
• Hardscaping
• Landscaping
• Painting
• Repairs and restorations
• Signage
• Windows and doors

2025 Exterior Grant Recipients

Island County Historical Museum, over $5k to maintain the roof of their historic blockhouse.
