Haller House

Historic Whidbey celebrates the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence with a Colonial Tavern Night fundraiser.

Over the years, CHWA has had the pleasure to fund various projects at the historic Haller House, right on the corner of Main Street and Front Street, the spot of the original land claim by Capt. Thomas Coupe. Historic Whidbey’s most recent Exterior Enhancement Grant Program application is for a new amphitheater for events, sitting in front of the home.

Since 2013, Historic Whidbey and Lynn Hyde have been hard at work, restoring this Georgian era home, originally owned by Col. Granville O. Haller, to its former glory. It has been a labor of love and respect for one of the remaining sites of Coupeville’s colonial history.

This past week, CHWA was able to take a peek inside, before their fundraising evening on June 27, 2026, celebrating the 250th anniversary of the United States. Proceeds will go directly to the continuing rehabilitation of the Haller House.
